About Dr. Anthony Vera
As a dedicated healthcare professional with a relentless commitment to excellence, Dr. Anthony Vera DNP, APRN, AGNP-C, CWCN-AP pursuit of knowledge and advancement in nursing led him to achieve a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from Florida International University (FIU) in 2023, with a focus on Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from FIU in 2024. With a passion for wound care management, Anthony is a certified as an Advanced Practice Wound Care Nurse (CWCN-AP), enhancing his expertise in addressing complex wound issues and improving patient outcomes. Additionally, Anthony holds an active licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a multi-state license, along with certifications in Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN), Certified Wound Care Nurse Advanced Practice (CWCN-AP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
Throughout Anthony’s career, he has garnered recognition for his academic achievements and contributions to the nursing community, including being inducted into prestigious honor societies such as Phi Kappa Phi and Sigma Theta Tau. Anthony’s dedication to excellence extends beyond his clinical practice, as evidenced by his professional affiliations with organizations such as the American Nurses Association (ANA) and the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nurses Society (WOCN Society). Anthony has also developed and presented in several national wound care conference, including the Southeastern regional wound care conference, Wild on Wounds conference, and Symposium on Advanced wound care (SAWC).

Anthony’s journey in advancing wound care education for home health nurses has been implemented by a comprehensive research project titled "Evaluation of Wound Care Education for Home Health Nurses Through an Application of the Transtheoretical Model of Change” and “A Comprehensive Educational Intervention to Improve Home Health Nurses’ Knowledge and Skills Related to Chronic Wound Care.”
